The vision for The Old Post has always been as a vibrant hub of art and business in the region, one that showcases the professional and creative talents of our community, while providing shared space to create and engage in arts-focused activities.
With our first commercial and professional tenants now occupying the building’s main and upper levels, we’re moving forward with the build-out of the lower level and the creation of a Minto artists’ cooperative to display and sell the work of local artists’ and craftspeople.
Join us on March 17 at 7 p.m. at The Old Post Centre for Business & Creativity (39 Elora St., Harriston) to generate ideas about the needs of the artistic community and potential uses for the lower level of the building. The event is free to attend and all are welcome – we hope to see local artists, craftspeople, residents and arts supporters out for what is sure to be an exciting social and networking night!
We’ll also be welcoming Steve Irvine, Chairman of the Owen Sound Artists’ Cooperative, who will share insight gained from the growth and experiences of their organizations, and guide the conversation about potential models for The Old Post.
Minto Arts Council members and executive will also be on hand, serving wine and cheese, and helping to facilitate ideas! We’re grateful for their partnership and support of this initiative!
All the work that has been done thus far is very beautiful. Thank you for having a vision, it is such an amazing structure that needed a lot of hard work put into it. It was sad to see it not functional, and scary to think who could have purchased it. I am very pleased, to say the least, that people with a thoughtful vision bought it. I look forward to meeting you both and finding out how I can help support The Old Post.
Regards,
Susan Cowtan
